The following link will open a window to the Karl Rahner Society Homepage. In my humble opinion, Karl Rahner was the greatest theologian of the twentieth century. I believe he is now a saint, and I seek his intercession sometimes in prayer.
His theological turn to the subject simply makes sense. He may be the first theologian since Saint Ireneaus to emphasize our inherent goodness despite original sin with his idea of the supernatural existential. His theology lays the groundwork for later political theology, and many see him as the driving force behind much of what came out of Vatican II.
